It really is magic!  These two examples should shed some light on how to use ImageMagick for batch operations. (Also serves as a reminder for me!) . Remember that you must first install ImageMagick.

Create Lowres and Thumbs from CSV

This Powershell script will create a thumbnail and a watermarked lowres image.  You will need to provide a watermark image and a CSV that contains the Path of the image and an ID of a folder to nest it under.

Create Lowres and Thumbs from Directory

This bash script will create a lowres watermarked image and a thumbnail for every TIF or DNG in a directory (recursively).
